An individual or business can take over an existing premises licence from the current premises licence holder by applying for a transfer of the licence.
A transfer only changes the identity of the holder of the licence and does not alter the licence in any other way.
How to apply
To complete an application to transfer a licence you need to submit the following:
- a completed transfer application form
- a consent form from the current licence holder or a statement as to why it is not included
- a copy of the current premises licence or a statement as to why it is not included
- the prescribed fee, which is currently £23
- documents demonstrating entitlement to work / immigration status in the United Kingdom (if you are applying as an individual)
Online
If you apply online then the licensing authority will serve the application on the relevant responsible authorities. Payment will be taken on submission via the GOV.UK portal.
Email or post
If you apply by email you must use the application forms provided below and not the PDF forms located on the GOV.UK portal. If you apply via email then the licensing authority will serve the application on the relevant responsible authorities.
