Over £100k has been awarded by the council to 14 local community groups to help them continue vital work to assist residents through the pandemic, such as mental health support for young people.

A special multi agency group, which will work together to help women and girls feel safer in North Herts, has just been launched.

You can now recycle on the go in our town centre parks of Howard Gardens in Letchworth, Bancroft in Hitchin, Avenue Park in Baldock, and Priory Memorial Gardens in Royston. 

Get ready to be in with a chance of winning £25,000 every week, and help local causes at the same time, by playing the North Herts Community Lottery.

From moving forward with rewilding projects to looking at options to extend our outdoor pools season, the council is working hard to deliver better services and provide value for money against a backdrop of financial pressures.

Direct financial support is available for those most in need to help cover the costs of utilities such as water, gas and electric, with the distribution of the Household Support Fund (HSF).

North Herts Healthy Hub has been busy organising a series of purple themed tea parties to support older people who have experienced social isolation due to the pandemic - are you involved in a community group that works with older people, with access to a venue?

With half-term approaching, COVID vaccination centres across Hertfordshire are running ‘Relax and Vax’ sessions to help young people who are nervous about having the vaccine to get protected from the virus - including the former Argos in Letchworth and Robertson House, Stevenage. 

Is your business moving to a commercial premises in North Herts? Or has it moved into the district during the current financial year? It might be eligible for a £5,000 new premises grant.

All three public toilet facilities provided by North Herts Council have been awarded the highest level for the quality of maintenance, hygiene and cleanliness, as well as accessibility.
