The Hitchin gardening group of the University of the Third Age (u3a) has transformed a planter in Waitrose car park in partnership with the council.

New trees have been planted at Bancroft in Hitchin, to form an avenue across the park, thanks to sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Hitchin Tilehouse.

With nine days left until people in North Herts go to the polls, North Herts Council is urging voters to get ready for the upcoming local elections.

The weather’s starting to get better (fingers crossed!) so get ready to get wet at one of four splash parks in North Herts – all will reopen on Saturday, 30 April.

Following the rise in energy bills and other costs of living, North Herts Council has put together a one-stop source of advice and information for local residents to help ‘ease the squeeze’ in the current climate.

The first two tranches of ‘council tax energy rebates’ have been made in North Herts, meaning 15,575 households have received their £150 rebate, totalling £2,336,250.

New interactive play equipment for children in each of our four main towns – Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and Royston – will be opening over the next few months.
