Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral will take place on Monday 19 September. This day will be a bank holiday. As a result, there will be changes to some of our services and facilities.
Bin collections
Household bin collections will not take place on Monday 19 September. Collections will instead take place one day later than usual all week.

All of our leisure centres will be closed on Monday 19 September. This includes:
- North Herts Leisure Centre
- Archers Health and Fitness Club
- Hitchin Swimming Centre
- Letchworth Outdoor Pool
- Royston Leisure Centre
- Fearnhill Sports Centre
Hitchin Town Hall
Hitchin Town Hall will be closed on Monday 19 September.
North Herts Museum
North Herts Museum is closed on Mondays, including 19 September.
Customer Service Centre
Our Customer Service Centre and our main customer phone line will be closed on Monday 19 September.

Council meetings
The Baldock and District Committee meeting scheduled for Monday 19 September has been postponed. It will be held at a later date.
All other meetings will take place as scheduled.

Herts Careline's 24 hour call centre will remain open on Monday 19 September.

Books of condolence
Books of condolence are available to sign in the libraries of our main towns during their normal opening hours. Libraries will be closed on Monday 19 September.
You can also share your message by signing Hertfordshire's online Book of Remembrance or send it to the Royal Family on their website.
Floral tributes
Flowers can be laid in memory of Her Majesty The Queen at Broadway Gardens in Letchworth, Priory Gardens in Royston, and The Cloisters in Hitchin.
We politely ask that flowers are taken out of cellophane wrappers and that no naked flames or candles are left.
