Certain temporary events, including licensable activities, are permitted under the Licensing Act 2003 if they are notified to NHDC's Licensing Authority, NHDC Environmental Health and Hertfordshire Constabulary, by the giving of a Temporary Event Notice.
An application and payment of £21.00 per event can be given electronically through GOV.UK. An applicant will need to complete and submit the application form no later than 10 clear working days before the event. The 10 days does not include the day of receipt and the day of the actual event, nor does it include a Saturday, Sunday or a Public Holiday.
If the application is made electronically, we will serve your application to the Hertfordshire Constabulary and local Environmental Health (Noise Team) on your behalf.
A limited number of applications will also be allowed each year where only five working days notice has been given and these are deemed 'Late Applications'. However, in these circumstances any representation made against a late application would result in an automatic refusal.

Alternatively, an application form can be downloaded, completed and submitted with a payment of £21.00 per event to North Hertfordshire District Council, PO Box 480, M33 0DE no later than 10 clear working days before the event. The 10 days does not include the day of receipt and the day of the actual event, nor does it include a Saturday, Sunday or a Public Holiday.
A copy of the application must be served by the applicant to The Licensing Officer, Hitchin Police Station, Licensing Department, College Road, Hitchin, SG5 1JX.
By law, a copy of the notice must also be sent to Environmental Health (Noise Team) and we will provide a copy to the Noise Team on your behalf.
