If you are struggling to pay your Council Tax and you've received a Reminder Notice or Final Notice, you can request a more affordable payment arrangement.
If this payment arrangement is accepted you will receive a new Council Tax Bill confirming this. If you have not heard from us within 14 days please call us on 01462 474595.
Any payment arrangement should be paid within the financial year that the Council Tax is due. There may be times when we will allow this to be extended for up to 12 months, however you will still have to make the payments due for the following financial year.
If your payment arrangement extends in to the next financial year, we will automatically add any balance that remains unpaid at the end of March to the new Council Tax liability. We will then collect the total amount outstanding, on a monthly basis, within that financial year.
How to request a payment arrangement
You can apply for a payment arrangement after you have registered for an account on our Council Tax payment site:
How you can pay
If you make a payment arrangement by direct debit, you can pay on 1st, 8th, 15th, 25th or 28th of the month.
Any other payment method can be paid on any day of the month, but it must be the same date every month.
If you have a balance remaining at the end of March, any new instalments will automatically default to 1st of the month and this cannot be changed.
