Postal vote delivery update

The general election takes place on Thursday 4 July.

We are aware that some residents have not yet received their postal vote pack.

If you haven’t received your pack, you can apply for a replacement up until 5pm on polling day, 4 July. To do this please call us on 01462 474000 or email elections@north-herts.gov.uk

Before we can give you a replacement postal vote pack, we will ask for proof of identity, such as your driving licence or passport.

Returning your postal vote pack by hand

If you would like to return your postal vote by hand rather than by Royal Mail, you can do so at the Council Offices during office hours until 5pm on 4 July.

You can also return it to a polling station in the same constituency.

When you return a postal vote pack by hand, you must fill in a form for the pack to be accepted. Do not put it in the letterbox at the Council Offices. It is important that you complete this form – if you don’t, your vote will not be counted. You do not need to complete the form if your postal vote is being returned by Royal Mail.

An individual can return their own postal vote and up to five additional postal votes at this election from family, friends or neighbours.

Candidates and campaigners are not allowed to collect or return postal votes on electors’ behalf.
