General Election - 4 July 2024

A UK Parliamentary General Election will be held on Thursday 4 July 2024.

Counting of votes will take place after the close of poll.

Voting in person

Voters are required to show photo ID when voting at a polling station at elections. Check which forms of ID you can use to vote.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm. Your polling station can be found on your poll card, or you can use our online polling station finder tool.

Voting by post

The deadline for receiving new postal vote applications was 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024 (to be effective for this election). More about voting by post.

Individuals will be required to complete a Postal Vote Return Form if hand delivering a postal vote to the Council Offices or to a polling station. This is not required if the postal ballot pack is being returned by post.

Voting by proxy

The deadline for receiving new proxy vote applications was 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024 (to be effective for this election). More about voting by proxy.

Voting by emergency proxy

The deadline for receiving new emergency proxy vote applications is 5pm on Thursday 4 July 2024 (to be effective for this election). You can download a form to apply using the links below:

Completed applications can be scanned and emailed to Elections@north-herts.gov.uk or posted to Council Offices, Gernon Rd, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3JF
