Cllr Steve Jarvis, NHDC’s Executive Member for Leisure said: “Under current Government guidance playgrounds are permitted to remain open during this latest national lockdown, as they provide an opportunity for children to exercise in the fresh air. However, we are keeping a constant watch on case numbers in the district and will keep the situation under review.
“Our playgrounds are all fitted with hand sanitisers and we would ask residents to please use these before entering the playground and after using any equipment. If you have the NHS Covid app, please also scan the QR codes provided at each location for track and trace purposes. Please use your common sense and keep away from our play areas if they are busy to avoid coming into close contact with others.
“Finally, while we do fully understand the need for children to play and get exercise, if you don’t need to use them, please don’t use them. It is critical that we all follow the Government rules, by staying at home, you are helping to protect the NHS and save lives.”
