The Stamford Avenue cemetery was built as an extension to Melbourn Road Cemetery and lies on the opposite side of the road with a disused chapel on the site.
The older part of the cemetery containing the chapel is the responsibility of St John's Church for interments and the church holds the records.
Grave spaces
Both the cremated remains and full burial sections in Stamford Avenue cemetery are now full. Interments into pre-purchased graves and re-openings will still be carried out.
Access and parking
- Pedestrian access is off the main A10 or via the footpath off Stamford Avenue all day and evening 365 days a year
- A short walk from the town centre and railway station
- There is no onsite parking available but visitors can park in Stamford Avenue. Please respect residential parking restrictions and access at all times
Facilities
- Re-openings of existing and already pre-purchased grave spaces only
- Scattering of cremated remains available by arrangement
