Remembrance Day parades and services in North Herts

Remembrance Day parades and services will be taking place across the district on Sunday 12 November.

Remembrance Day is held on the Sunday closest to Armistice Day. Armistice Day is on the Saturday 11 November and marks the agreement between the Allies and Germany in 1918 to stop fighting, declaring victory for the Allies in World War I.

Baldock 

  • A short Remembrance service will take place at the town's war memorial in High Street, hosted by Baldock Branch Royal British Legion. Branch members have asked anyone who would like to attend to be in place by 10.45am. 

Hitchin

  • A civic service will take place from 10am at St Mary's Church for Remembrance Sunday, followed by a gathering at the town's War Memorial just before 11am for the Act of Remembrance. 

Letchworth

  • Parade of the Army, Sea and Air Cadets along with Scouts and Guides leaving Broadway Gardens at 10.45am. Public to gather at the War Memorial from 10.30am  

Royston

  • 10am parade assembly at Queens Road, 10.30am parade arrives at War Memorial for 10.35am service. Parade back to Royal British Legion via Melbourn Road and Stamford Avenue
