Building control services in North Hertfordshire are provided by Hertfordshire Building Control.
Hertfordshire Building Control Limited is owned by North Herts Council along with seven other Hertfordshire local authorities.
In addition to building control compliance, plans assessments and site inspections, the allied services that they provide for their customers throughout the UK include:

The organisation has 48 surveyors, 36 of whom are professionally qualified and 20 of them have achieved the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) highest level examination in managing high risk residential buildings.
The Company have achieved ISO 9001 status and in 2019 were awarded the LABC Warranty Bricks Award as the best local authority partner. Their surveyors have also been recognised nationally and as well as LABC Trainee of the year for 2018, LABC Rising Star for 2019 and LABC Superstar for 2019 two of their surveyors are on the LABC training panel and on the LABC technical panel.
