North Herts Council has launched a consultation to find out how we can better support people to move more and enjoy being active for life.
Over the coming weeks we want to hear the experiences of people who live, work or study in the district. What helps you to move more, and what stops you?
We want to find out people’s attitudes, the types of opportunities you would like to see and what support you need to become more active.
We will use your views to help develop a new Active North Herts Strategy to support local people to be more active. The new Strategy will shape the future provision of sport and physical activity facilities and services across North Herts so that they better meet the needs of the community and help improve the long-term health and wellbeing of all our residents.
Consultation with key stakeholders and the community is vital to the development of the new Strategy. We want to better understand the barriers faced by people who wish to be more active and the opportunities to overcome these.
Sarah Kingsley, Director for Place at North Herts Council said: “As we continue to recover from the impact of Covid-19, supporting people to be more active has never been so important. The Council recognise this and has a key role to play in helping to tackle inactivity and reduce health inequalities through its leisure, sport and physical activity facilities and services.
“We want to hear from as many as residents as possible, so we get the real picture and can make plans to make North Herts a more active place to live for all.”

The survey is open until midnight on 22 February 2023.
