Your bin collection days will change over some of the bank holiday weekends in May 2023.
Our crews will be collecting on the Early May bank holiday this year. This is to reduce disruption for residents and enable our crews to enjoy the Coronation celebrations.

Top tips for your Easter and bank holiday celebrations
We hope you enjoy celebrating together this year. Whether you’re having an Easter weekend family roast or a Coronation street celebration, we have some top tips for reducing party waste and making your celebrations that bit greener.
- Avoid disposable plates, cutlery and table covers. Even compostable alternatives create waste. Why not use reusable items or ask your guests to bring their own?
- Set up a recycling area to reduce tidying up (which, let’s face it, no one enjoys!) and make sure waste ends up in the right place.
- Squash your cans, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes and tins to fit more in your recycling bins and stop them overflowing.
- Encourage guests to take leftover food home. This will mean your hard work in the kitchen isn’t wasted plus you have less to clear up - a win-win!
- If you’re heading to one of our glorious open spaces for your celebration, please take your litter home.
