A new exhibition featuring the work of a talented Pop Art artist has opened at North Hertfordshire Museum.
The ‘Some Observations About Now’ exhibit showcases the work of Adrian Marden who describes his art as Pop Art with a conscience, making the observer think about ordinary everyday objects in different ways.
Adrian Marden studied Fine Art at Portsmouth before working in the design industry and in consultancy. He then moved into art and design education, helping to create a design course at Goldsmith’s College before becoming Head of School at the University of Hertfordshire.
Cllr Nigel Mason, North Herts District Council’s Deputy Executive Member for Arts said: “We are very fortunate to have such a fascinating exhibition at the Museum. Adrian Marden’s genius is taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary, through his skilled and thought provoking art. I encourage everyone to visit and experience the exhibition for themselves.”
The exhibition in The Arches gallery at the Museum, will run until 29 August. It is free to visit and open from 10.30am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, and Sunday 11am to 3pm. Refreshments and a gift shop are available at the Museum.
