North Hertfordshire's Splash Parks and Water Features turned on for Bank Holiday
We are hoping for some warm sunshine this May Day bank holiday as North Hertfordshire’s interactive water splash parks are due to spring into action.
On Saturday 29 April, North Hertfordshire District Council’s (NHDC’s) FREE themed splash parks, jets, fountains and bucket drops are being turned on, officially opening for the summer months.
Splash parks at Priory Memorial Gardens in Royston, Bancroft Recreation Ground in Hitchin, Avenue Park in Baldock will also be joined by the water feature and paddling pool at Howard Park and Gardens in Letchworth.
Together they aim to provide hours of fun and entertainment for families and children from a wide variety of age groups.
Keen swimmers will also be delighted to see the return of Hitchin and Letchworth’s outdoor swimming pools which are opening on 27 May in time for the late bank holiday and half-term school holidays.
Vaughan Watson, NHDC’s Head of Leisure and Environmental Services said: "We currently have four fantastic free water park facilities in North Hertfordshire and two 50 meter outdoor pools, meaning that each town in the district has a facility on their doorstep. We hope local people will get out there and really take the time to enjoy them this season".
