Walsworth Common Greenspace Action Plan 2019-24
The Countryside Management Service (CMS) is working on behalf of and in partnership with North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) to produce a new five year Greenspace Action Plan (GAP) for Walsworth Common which will run from 2019-24.

Barkway Chalk Pit and Hill End Chalk Pit
The Countryside Management Service (CMS) is currently working closely with North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) to write a Greenspace Action Plan (GAP) for two NHDC-managed sites, Barkway Chalk Pit and Hill End Chalk Pit. We have now developed a draft GAP, which is available to download below. This document is being sent to a range of local stakeholders. The plan will also be advertised to the public on site and made available online. Following this period of engagement, the GAP will be amended as required, agreed, and actions to deliver the plan will commence.
Pryor's Wood - Greenspace Action Plan 2018-2023
The new plan sets out a vision for the sustainable management of Pryor’s Wood. The plan includes a number of actions which aim to enhance the value of the woodland for both wildlife and people, whilst remaining sensitive to the sites ancient characteristics. Through this plan Pryor’s Wood will become integrated within the Great Ashby Woodlands and District Park.
The aim of the Purwell Meadows GAP is to improve and enhance the Local Nature Reserve for both wildlife and people.
The aim of the Greenspace Action Plan is to maintain and enhance Butts Close as a popular and well-used green space in Hitchin. The GAP for Butts Close sets out the management, maintenance and development framework of the site over five years.
The long term aim of the Weston Hills Management Plan 2016-21 is to retain a mixed semi-natural habitat incorporating grassland, scrub and woodland, enhanced for wildlife whilst providing the opportunity for enjoyment by visitors.
The aim of the Greenspace Action Plan 2016-21 is for Cadwell Lane Playing Field to be a popular and well-used green space in Hitchin.
Countryside Management Service worked closely with us to develop a new Greenspace Action Plan for Norton Common.
The aim of the Greenspace Action Plan is for Ivel Springs Local Nature Reserve to be a popular, well used green space in Baldock.
The aim of the Greenspace Action Plan is to maintain and enhance Burymead Springs as a valuable component of the network of greenspaces along Hitchin’s river valley, with a focus on improving public access and engagement and restoring its habitats for wildlife.
The aim of the Greenspace Action Plan is to maintain a vibrant community-based open space that focuses on maintaining the diverse flora and fauna that can be found at Oughtonhead Common.
