Water splash parks
Our four splash parks reopened on Saturday 5 May and will close on Sunday 9 September 2018. They run from 10am to 6pm seven days a week during summer.
Howard Park and Gardens, Letchworth
The popular 120m paddling pool at the centre of Letchworth's Howard Park are filled and the exciting water jets are operational from the beginning of May until September. It is a historic water feature, with ground level water jets. There is also a kiosk, public toilets and a baby changing facility.
Bancroft Recreation Ground, Hitchin
Hitchin’s town centre splash park is ‘buccaneer’ themed and includes features such as interactive water jets, a pirate ship and a play stream for younger children. The water facility is 160m squared and also benefits from tipping water buckets.
Priory Memorial Gardens, Royston
Royston's splash park in Priory Memorial Gardens includes features like interactive water jets, a May pole and play streams for younger children and families of all ages to enjoy. The splash park is 160m squared and also benefits from being located near to the Fish Hill public toilets.
Avenue Park, Baldock
The splash park at Avenue Park in Baldock has been resurfaced and is open to the public.
Hitchin and Letchworth Outdoor Pools reopened on Saturday 26 May and will close on Sunday 9 September 2018.
Hitchin Swimming Centre and Norton Common in Letchworth each have a heated, 50 metre outdoor pool. There are also smaller heated pools for toddlers and younger children, grassed areas for sunbathing and cafés that provide refreshments and snacks. A range of concessions are also available for families, multi-swim tickets and swim memberships. Both pools can be hired for private functions and pool parties.
