Help to Shape Letchworth Play Area

PR Date:
Monday, 17 July 2017 - 10:00am

Jackmans Central Park’s play area in Letchworth is to have a makeover and we need your views on how to shape its future.

Community charity Groundwork Hertfordshire is hosting an initial consultation event, on behalf of North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC), on Monday 24 July between 3pm – 5pm.

Questionnaires will be available for people to complete and members of the Groundwork Hertfordshire team will be on hand to show residents the early stage designs and get their feedback. There will also be a marquee with snacks available.

There will also be a drop in session at Jackmans Community Centre between 5.45pm – 6.45pm for those who are unable to attend the session at the park.

This is an opportunity for local residents, particularly parents, to identify potential improvements and help shape the future of the play area for young children. Following the consultation events, Groundwork will begin the process of planning detailed designs for the play area.

Cllr Jane Gray, NHDC’s Executive Member for Leisure said: "We want to give local people in Letchworth the chance to help shape the design of the Jackmans play area so that it meets the needs of young children in the future. Please do come along and have your say".

If you are unable to attend the public events – please feel free to email any thoughts and suggestions to Nicola Murphy at or fill out the survey via:
